internet as a city
in summer 2018, myself and collaborators kallirroi retzepi, sam ghantous and gary zhexi zhang were invited to give a workshop as part of the 'creative' and 'governance' tracks of the decentralised web summit. we settled on the theme of understanding decentralised internet as a city, using concepts from architecture and urbanism (gentrification, appropriation, community) as a means of addressing the question 'how do we want to live together?' in the context of the web. a guide to the workshop (including instructions for running your own) is located here, and the presentation we gave (complete with notes) is here.
the blocks found a home with the program ArtsEd4All, who plan to adopt and run a version of the workshop aimed at children.
